While backstage at the Woodstock Festival in 1969, Skip is credited with developing part of what is now called the “Favored Nations Clause.”  This legal stipulation concerns musical acts that are included with other acts on Soundtracks, Films and Live Festival Albums.  Skip’s original “formula” had royalties based on a “pro rata” number of performing minutes vs. the entire album with an alphabetical listing of acts… still in use today! Skip negotiated agreements for many of the acts appearing on “Woodstock I” and “Woodstock II” on Atlantic Records as well as the Woodstock movies.

1970 Rotterdam Pop Festival, Rotterdam, Netherlands

After many years in the music business, the deaths of a number of close friends and clients… Alan Wilson and Bob Hite of Canned Heat, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Keith Moon… compounded by the accidental burning of his home in Laurel Canyon, California in 1978 by renters, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, Skip gave his entire business to his brother, Jim and he left Los Angeles for Telluride, Colorado. While living there and raising his only daughter, Amy, as a single Dad, he helped form the Commission for Arts and Special Events (CASE) to oversee all summer festivals and events.  Telluride is now called “The Festival Capital of the Rockies”!
After a number of years in Telluride, raising his daughter, real estate investing, skiing and golf, Skip had a serious golfing accident involving his leg that led him to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in 1990.  While rehabbing in Minnesota, he married and moved to Excelsior, Minnesota for seven years. After a divorce in 1997, he returned to Los Angeles and re-entered the music business.  After a year and a half at Tapestry Artists, he left in early 1999 to, once again, restart Two Goats Entertainment for management, production and booking and his association with Canned Heat. He also worked with a new band called “Indigo Swing” and guided them to the forefront of the swing/boogie-woogie movement and also signed and managed blues/rocker Corey Stevens for a couple of years. Skip produced a new recording of Canned Heat’s 30 year old hit, “Let’s Work Together,” for the TARGET stores nationwide commercial campaign.
In 2006, Skip moved from “Hell-A” (as he refers to L.A.) to Tucson, Arizona to continue working and play more golf. During the past five years, Skip has produced fifteen tours of Europe with Canned Heat.  He has also overseen European tours with POCO, Vanilla Fudge, Hot Tuna, Country Joe McDonald, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Kim Wilson’s Blues All-Stars.  In 2009, Skip brought Ten Years After to the U.S. for a summer tour with The Heroes of Woodstock, a package Skip produces along with partners Michael Gaiman and Tim Murphy.
Skip and Two Goats Entertainment, LLC is proud to still represent Canned Heat as they celebrate their 45th Anniversary in the music business in 2011. Skip also represents The Fabulous Thunderbirds and their leader Kim Wilson and his side project, Kim Wilson’s Blues All-Stars.
